‘Citrusi’

Moorpark, CA Jaunary 12, 2013 Below freezing temperatures compliments of an Arctic cold front descended on southern California overnight. Temperatures plummeted overnight Friday into Saturday resulting in damage to California’s $1 billion citrus industry. A few hours of sustained temperatures below 28 degrees can destroy citrus. Lemons, at a citrus farm off Grimes Canyon Road in Moorpark, are encased in ice. (Michael Robinson Chavez/ Los Angeles Times)
